THERE is one man who is fit to take the office of the Chief Election Commissioner of Pakistan, and that person is Mr. Imran Khan. He works day and night to ensure impartial elections in Pakistan. He wants recounting after recounting after recounting in almost every constituency, in which his party loses an election. He wants re-elections in almost every constituency in which his party loses — just to ensure that Pakistan gets rid of rigging.
I hope, the government of Pakistan will offer him the post of the Chief Election Commissioner of Pakistan. In that way, Mr. Khan can save millions of rupees that he pays to D.J. Butt. He can also save his time consumed in protesting against rigged elections.
The government would then also be able to save public property from wild youths who want to damage it — like the office of PTV.
More interesting, Mr. Khan would be able to supervise all the returning officers, and he would be able to recount votes at any time in constituencies in which his party would lose the elections. And then Mr Khan would be finally satisfied.
If this is not done, then the people should be ready that for the next three years Islamabad will see nothing but parties and dances protesting against rigging in elections, and D. J. Butt would be making millions of rupees in profit.
