Who sacrificed what on eid?

Every muslim sacrificed to his/her potential on this eid-ul-azha... a few sacrificed camels, many did cows, some sacrificed bakras and dumbaas... the officials in caretaker govt. of Pakistan sacrificed something we don't usually see being sacrificed on holy events like eid... Decency is what they sacrificed... they did not let the judges and their families leave the colony for eid prayers. They had to offer eid prayers inside the colony which was locked and was surrounded by riot police so that the 'free to move' judges cannot move freely. The govt. also violated its own orders by re-arresting aitzaz early morning on eid. I wonder where has the sharam and ghairat gone??? The govt. officials keep claiming that there r no restrictions on judges, they r free to offer prayers... but a fotograph on dawn website shows a 4 row eid prayer, with approx. 16 ppl in each row... is it what eid prayers are meant for?... mush u r introducin a new islam, a new concept of 'ijtimaaiat'... u might get an award for peace but u'll win the hatred of muslim in return, the bad-duas of the besieged, the curse of ur evil doings and ghazab of Allah in return inshaAllah... man usually a jama'at for juma prayers is larger than this jama'at for eid :(... see the foto and full story on Dawn website

the king's party receiving official patronage...

How is the king's party receiving official
patronage in Punjab in the run-up to the general elections?

By
Adnan Adil

The landscape on the Mall Road and Gulberg's Main Boulevard in Lahore is
dotted with banners displaying bicycle, the election symbol of PML-Q. The
prime advertisement site is believed to have been devoted to party's
publicity campaign for gratis, which otherwise is sold off by the city
authorities for millions of rupees. This is one prominent example of how the
king's party is receiving official patronage in the run-up to the general
elections. The list is long -- from doling out of public funds to
gerrymandering and the use of police to buy votes. more... >

I'm not trouble creator, says Musharraf. "but he is a man of vision???"

President Pervez Musharraf pledged Tuesday to cooperate with whoever wins January’s crucial general elections, saying that he was not a “trouble creator”. (The Nation, Dec 12, 2007.) See full story here and excerpts as follows:
He further said in the same interview that he had to impose emergency rule on November 3 because the judge was “illegally trying to remove me” and country would have been in trouble if he had been allowed to have his own way.
“What would have happened if we allowed this Chief Justice to have his own way? We would have landed this country into chaos,”. See??? there was nothing personal, it was all done in favor of Pakistan. People who think mush did it for his sake should be ashamed of themselves and their filthy thinkings

The President said that the local government system had provided solid foundation for democracy, empowerment of people. hehehe mr. (self made) president, I've witnessed how well the people of the state have been empowered in ur regime. A few students were arrested on orders of independent kangroo courts while they were just sitting outside house of a Justice. They were unarmed. Maximum they could do was shout. Police picked them (abiding by the law of course), did not present them infront of magistrate (certainly the common man is so empowered he can bypass the magistrate but it is so only if the common man is in uniform) and kept them in jail on their own. This is not it, they were charged with terrorism :). See how an unarmed person can be portrayed as a terrorist by the common man in uniform. I agree mush, common man (in uniform) has really been empowered by the laws (of jungle) drafted by u.

He claimed in a TV program a few weeks ago that the army is in barracks and is not handling anything on administrative level. But today answering to questions about his association with military he said that as civilian president he would keep a close relationship with the military, despite quitting as the Chief of Army Staff.

He is a leader with vision and believes that these (so-called) elections will strengthen democracy in Pakistan. His vision tells him who's gonna loose this election :) Strongly ruling out any possibility for delaying the elections, he said that coming polls were of vital importance for the future of the country in which retrogressive, bigoted and narrow-minded elements would have to be defeated at all costs.

Help me realize tht Ur wisdom is far more greater than our thinking, Ur care is greater than my disappointment, and Ur plans for our lives r better than our dreams. Allah plz let me follow the true path, which lead to the success. Plz let me pass successfully n bravely through the moments of disappointment n hopelessness. Enable me to b ur slave in real manner. 'Elected King'

H.E. Gen. Musharraf is not guilty of wht happened on november 03, 2007, the 'brightest' day in Pakistan. It is the judiciary which is the root cause. The interesting address of H.E. clearly showed how patient he had been, n how severely the judicial system has damaged Pakistan's stability. The judiciary was sheltering Pakistani citizens... err 'terrorists 'arrested by the security agencies either without any charge (since terrorists need not b charged) or on serious charges like 'he shook hands with a man who was sitting with a man who was found buying a cap from a shop near which a very close friend of Osama was seen 3 years ago'. This was not the only crime committed by the judiciary. It did not accept the decision of 'The King' when he sacked the little CJ of Pakistan on some 'serious' grounds.

The judiciary was guilty of standing united and strong against the peaceful visits of armed forces to the houses of terrorist Pakistani citizens in various parts of the jungle... err state. Political system was well in place and there was no uncertainty n anxiety in the nation abt wht will happen, everyone was certain tht nothin is gonna happen. Musharraf is not gonna go, n y shld he go, he is elected as a king by the ppl elected by animals... err people of Pakistan. But when the judicial activism showed a bit of hope to the insects of the country tht they can ask someone tht some loyal slaves of the King are disturbing them, they started gettin uncertain. This was the beginning of treason. I mean the loyal slaves now cannot pick any animal from his home without telling him the charges against him. This was too bad, they r authorized by the 'elected king' to pick, beat, kill or do anything they want to do with any animal they like. Who gave the judges the authority to stand in their way? This moved the country to a state of uncertainty.

Moreover the judiciary has been playin 'games' with the King who never played games with the insects livin in the jungle... by not promisin to remove the uniform more than 1 times and not takin the uniform off.

So the king thought of a solution... remove every judge capable of givin hope to the insects of civil society, stop the ppl who respect them, beat everyone who wants them to stay. This was inevitable for the Elected King to impose martial law... err 'emergency'. H.E. was not willing to do so, his heart wept, he felt drowned but for the sake of common insects in Pakistan, for the sovereignty of the country it was mandatory to impose the Law of Jungle.

Now the country is in a 'certain' state, everyone knows tht emergency has been imposed, no one has any rights, every citizen knows tht his future is in safe hands of the elected king. So the act of the King was just.

So there is no need to protest, we r justified in stayin home n not participatin in any protests... dont think, stay home, have a cup of coffee watch a tv show, sit back, relax, sleep, get up n goto work again. keep goin in this cycle n feel tht u r free. Enjoy the law of jungle.

Friday, Novemver 02, 2007: A busy day for me

It was quite a hectic day... 280 minutes of Applied Probability lectures... 80 minutes long research meeting... slides for the 3 minutes madness... then a long 3 minutes madness session... i had such a schedule tht i couldnt even check the emails... i couldnt open the lid of my laptop before 1630 in the evening :)... then in the night after the madness session the xvcl project had its turn... it seems i have a similar week ahead... in which i'll be following a hectic routine each day... its the last week of the quarter infact... on one side when i was tired of such long sessions of applied probability, dr. baqai impressed me a lot for his untiring lectures and a short talk in 3 min madness after a lecture of almost 180 minutes... he deserves the credit here of doing so much without showing any signs of tiredness...

Thank God the work on XVCL project took some progress. The architecture and the generator code is now finalized and ready to be used. I guess we'll end this phase by tomorrow inshaAllah. Btw this phase was due on October 28 :)... but doesn't matter, we can invest more time in later stages :). I m a bit relaxed n satisfied.

Pakistan's Defeat in ODI series against South Africa

I dont remember I ever hated pakistan cricket or cricketers in the way i did when we lost the last match of the home series in 2007. In the match played in lahore, pakistan was all set to win untill the score was 209/5. This was a classic show of irresponsibility, shamelessness, foolishness (n wat not) of the lower middle order batsmen. More specifically i dont understand why a veteran of 230 plus ODIs H.E. Mr. Shahid Khan Afridi couldn't take his team home when it was only 15 needed of 25. I mean when will the team (more specifically the batsmen) get matured? When will they learn to win the nailbiters? when will they stop chokin in such circumstances? when will our batsmen feel responsibility? when will they learn to decide which short to play? in short i m strongly feeling tht it will b of no use to follow the indo-pak series starting from next week.......
v have a good bowlin attack n i think it is the real thing on the subcontinent pitches... our pacers can even trouble the batsmen on such dead, flat or spinner friendly wickets... our bowlers get the opponent out on a chaseable score n our 'brilliant' batsmen always make a mess, which is a shame... afridi i guess is a liability as a batsman... the team must not rely on him in future n if he scores consider it a bonus... atleast i wont expect anything from afridi as a batsman in future...
